Thanks for the clarification... sometimes the depth and breadth of my ignorance amazes me... I agree that both are amazing and only are harbingers of things to come...(edit: to clarify.. the fact that there are both rocket and jet engines implies a great future...not the breadth and depth of my ignorance - those are as common as can be... )

when the OEMs really get behind AM to exploit the design capabilities which are not available through traditional manufacturing techniques, they are going to need IPQA more and more. To merely build parts with AM that are designed for traditional manufacturing may avoid supply chain issues and the like, however, the real advance to engineering will be when the GE fuel nozzle geometry is standard design..
