"why should the FDA bother with the sNDA?"

Because it would be very nice to get clarification on their intent one way or the other rather than leaving everyone hanging in limbo. Potential investors shelling out millions of $'s buying Amarin shares might be more inclined to do so with more clarity from the FDA.

Surely the shareholders and the company are entitled to know the FDA's current stance re ANCHOR considering that there is NOTHING from Amarin's end precluding them from taking action on the sNDA.

If they want to wait until R-IT data is in at Interim or in 2018, fine, but communicate the damn information once and for all! How long do these clowns need?
