I do not think the blame for past problems can be put on Joe V. (who was the COO)or the lawyer. Matt Schissler was the Chairman and CEO, and made all the decisions and held all the power .Joe in the last two years has been unwinding what Matt has done, by cutting all ties with Matt and the deals that he has made (ie: Divestiture of Biocordcell Argentina, S.A, terminated their arrangement, with Pyrenees , ceased doing business with FFGG). Joe is concentrating on the core business. Agreed he is not the best CEO, but I do believe he wants the company to succeed.
