Exactly, it comes down to cost. That is the reason this point in history is an inflection point.

Right where we are, now, in some parts of the world, solar competes favorably with all other forms of energy. It is the cheapest option in some applications.

The widely thrown around number right now is solar's cost has decreased 40% since 2010.

So it is becoming cheaper extremely quickly.

I think of solar as similar to computers, which are similar to other technologies, like solar.

Just as people complain a computer is more or less obsolete after 5 years or so because of advances in computers and programming, so solar is following the same sort of parabolic progression curve...
