POSCO ICT kicks off a security business with fingerprint identification cards as it strikes a deal with a Norwegian fingerprint tech company, ZWIPE, and Korean securities solution provider South Korea Smart ID.

ZWIPE has first developed the fingerprint recognition technologies in credit cards while security solution provider Smart ID has a holds Public Key Cryptography technology such as USIM and NFC for smartphones.

The fingerprint authenticated system was developed to prevent credit card fraud or precise access control to restricted areas. The fingerprint authenticated payment system can be applied to container cargo shipment system to prevent cargo theft and damage.

POSCO ICT plans to apply the technology to a host of different areas including credit cards, entrance cards, and ID cards
