No, they can't. Claiming a person could find a high-grade vein and not only mine enough mineralized material from such a vein and then recover enough metal from that ore with a sluice is a complete fantasy. That is not how geology, mining and metallurgy works. Even the old miners back in the day could not do it that way, so why do you assume that there are historical working out there that can be mined economically that way 100-200 years later?
