I also took a look at the patent info. Here is what I came up with on Trent Jones, which confirms what I-GLOW posted.

There are 2 application numbers: 13/279,541 and: 14,051,060. They are for different applications, but on the same thought pattern.

14/051,060 is for: “Sustainable Aquaponic Systems and Method for Growing Plants Like Medical Cannabis.”

13/279/541 is for: “Sustainable Aquaponic System and Method Using Alternative Aquaculture Feed, Fingerling Production and Green Energy Sources”

Here is the link to the 13/279,541 applications that I-GLOW found. The one that was abandoned:

In the box that says “Application Number,” type either of the above 2 numbers. As I-GLOW posted, the first one (13/279/541) was abandoned on 11-18-2013. The info on the second one is shown below.

Along the top you will see a whole series of tabs you can click on to get information on this patent application. For now, click on the one that says “Application Data.”

Next, the rejection letter by the examiner is 15 pages. However, this best describes why the examiner rejected this ‘invention.’:

In numerous places, the examiner continues to point out that what Jones has described occurs naturally in nature, which is not patentable. He mentions this in every section addressed.

(NOTE: I tried to paste the actual wording, but it won't allow me to.)

I find it hard to believe that a competent Patent Attorney didn’t know that you couldn’t patent things that occur naturally in nature. Sounds a little suspicious.

So, here is what we have (so far):

Date his first attempt was abandoned: 11-18-2013
Date his second attempt was rejected by the USPTO: 10-22-2014.
Date Trent Jones was hired on at GRCU: 1-13-2015

Why is Trent Jones still trying to claim the following:

Dr. Trent Jones has also successfully developed an aquaponic production model that is patent-pending, positively cash flows, all natural, organic, off-grid, low tech, highly sustainable and is reproducible throughout the world. He currently manages multiple off-grid, organic aquaponic fish, cannabis and whole plant production/cultivation system in the Mojave Desert in California. This system is focused on industrial hemp (IH) production of less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC/high CBD content, and cannabis strains that are used for disease-specific clinical trials, in conjunction with several universities throughout the United States.

He has no patent(s) pending and he knows it. This is nothing more than shameless resume padding. This has to make you wonder if he has anything going on in the Mojave Desert in California? No one can seem to find out where it is. I’m trying, too. I’ve made some inquiries. Waiting for a response.

And what’s with the next words: “positively cash flows.” That doesn’t even make sense (must be our crack PR people at work again. LOL). So is he telling us that this process is already cash flow positive? That sure is what it looks like he’s saying. If so, exactly where has this non-inventable/abandoned/rejected process been making money?

I think Dr. Trent Jones needs to clarify a few things. Well, that’s if David gives Trent permission to open his mouth and actually speak on his own accord, and not through David. After all, he seems to be promoting things that simply are not true

PS: I only have one post per day, so I can’t respond until tomorrow.
