You've just exemplified the curse of the longs perfectly. Longs over-value the stock drastically. As a result they tend to hold and hold as the stock goes up always expecting it to go "to da moon" and to "dollars" etc. All the while the stock peaks out on a spike, over-bought, way over-valued, and the longs just hold all the way down missing their great opportunity to make a decent profit. Happens all the time.
