$PMCB Where Do Human Trials Start?



With animals, of course. All human clinical trials for new drugs start with animal studies designed to make sure the stuff is not too toxic for people and there's some evidence it works.

In getting ready for a planned Phase 2B clinical trial in humans, Pharmactye (PMCB) is gearing up by doing extensive testing on mice.

In fact, according to Monday's press release, 130 mice will be divided into 13 different treatment groups. World class cancer researcher Dr. Daniel Von Hoff's company- TD2, is conducting the study.

This follows on the heels of an initial study, conducted late last year, with 40 mice and 4 control groups. The mice will have ovarian cancer which mimics all abdominal cancers such as pancreatic, liver, ovarian, uterine, and colon.

The mice will receive dosages of chemotherapy agents in various forms, including cancer prodrug ifosfamide and delivered in PMCB's Cell-in-a- Box(R) capsules.
