East coast? Snowpocalypse? I've seen bigger Blizzards at our 13th Ave Dairy Queen... --a typical response by one of my North Dakota friends.

actually, the tip-off that the storm would fizzle was when the politicians tried to front-run it. They kind of cried wolf when the phrase "storm of the century" entered into the media echo chamber. People that tuned into the weather being dished out on TV probably helped George Foreman and Inventhelp.com reach more people with their ads than they normally would. nice work.

I understand the need for warning the population ahead of time and to take preparations seriously. But things like Chris Christie warning against riding motorcycles on the bridges just made him look even stupider, as bikers who want to ride in a blizzard certainly could give a rat's ass about what old lard-ass had to say anyway.

at least the wind and relatively warm snowfall is being gentle enough that even all the CNN on-the-scene reporters are expected to survive the storm.
