OK here goes,

So I'm reading about the Oscars yesterday and a group is upset that no black Americans were nominated for Best Actor Award and it gets me thinking, why do "black Americans" label themselves as such? It seems if they want to just be considered "Americans", they'd quit labeling themselves. In today's' society, when everyone seems to be accepted for what they are, they seem one of the few groups who still want to be singled out. At the People's Choice award, the black actors and presenters stood on stage and talked about the injustices, and I'm thinking, "what injustices?" Any other minority group have a President? There is a Black Miss America. A Black entertainment channel. Why is no one crying out for an Indian American award? Or a Gay Miss America Pageant?
It seems, if blacks want to quit being labeled. They will quit labeling themselves.
That is all.
