IBM is about to get hit with a massive reorg and layoffs

Well it looks like they will probably be shrinking rapidly, and quite right too I think. I feel a bit though that shareholding just drags down companies after they have paid a good amount back to investors and really the people working in it should have a bigger stake. I wonder how much of IBM's management time is just spent extracting value for shareholders.

Any idea what a hundred thousand people from IBM suddenly on the market will do to the IT industry?
