Degree in Math from LeMoyne College, Syracuse, New York, and receiving his MBA from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Claude began his career in IBM, New York City as a computer programmer and systems analyst in the 1970s. Following this, he moved to computer sales in IBM's New York City financial district, and subsequently accepted employment at Citibank in New York. At Citibank, he held various jobs including Director of International Communications, and ended with a 3-year tour of duty in London as Vice President of Operations for one of Citibank's largest international retail banking facilities.
On his return to the U.S., he found entrepreneurial activities to be attractive and formed his own telecommunications company partnering with staff from the New York Stock Exchange.
