CatBirdSeat - I was one of three shareholders who met with Hensarling's staff during the recent Investor's Unite effort, and I was surprised to find his office (seemingly) very open to our information and open to solutions. That was actually the best meeting out of the three I attended. The staffer was able to summarize all of our points at the end of the meeting, with my small additional reminder that taxpayers already owned 80% of FnF through the Senior Preferreds, and so taxpayer and shareholder interests were actually aligned. We also discussed recapitalization of FnF. This article you post would seem to indicate more willingness to compromise in seeking a solution that allows FnF to continue to exist as part of private capital inclusion, as long as the Federal backstop is removed or much reduced. I don't find much room for disagreement, removing the GSEs from government control is actually the best outcome for shareholders.
