I suspect Fifer could be liable for a number of his actions, whether they be from screwing the shareholders of the Company, all the way down to not paying the former workers or for that matter the government for not paying royalties for gold mined.

The question remains who's going to prosecute him? Like you say lawsuits aren't cheap. It appears he will be paying back the workers and the government, I dare say the shareholders will be as lucky.
