Welcome to the Green Age, Nevada AGTK MY LIFE ORGANICS IN NEVADA

Nevada is about to enter the green age and it has been a long time coming. Even though medical marijuana was legalized in 2000, the state never established a formal system for growing and distributing cannabis. Patients are required to grow their own medical marijuana for personal use. Lawmakers approved a statewide system of dispensaries, growing facilities and labs in 2013. It has taken Nevada nearly two years to write rules, collect applications and award licenses.

A Budding Industry

There are a lot of cannabis businesses in Nevada that are getting ready to capitalize on this budding industry. The cannabis industry will be one of the most heavily regulated in the state, which is saying because it is still Nevada. The state is still is working out details about how medical marijuana will be handled.

Nevada will be the only state in the country that will accept medical marijuana cards from other states. Patients from Oregon, Washington and anywhere else that medical marijuana is legal will be able to shop at Nevada dispensaries while visiting.

How many dispensaries will there be in Nevada?

The current law in Nevada allows for there to be 60 licensed dispensaries statewide. A pretty low amount when you compare to a state like Oregon, who has about 250. We would not be surprised to see a new law be approved which reopens the licensing process.

Who can get a medical marijuana card?

Only people that suffer from one of eight specific ailments can qualify for a medical marijuana card. They are: cancer, glaucoma, AIDS and conditions that include muscle spasms, seizures, severe nausea, severe pain or wasting.
