The drug cartels are Not an issue in Sonora Mexico according to those who have been down there including Tonogold CEO Mark Ashley, Travis Miller and Eddie Sugar. Sugar commented on this in the May 8, 2014 TNGL press release http://www.tonogold.com/s/NewsReleases.asp?ReportID=652171&_Type=News-Releases&_Title=Tonogold-To-Acquire-100-Of-Iron-Ore-Project-Mexico
“Mr. Eddie Sugar (the principle of EAS) said, "Although we were initially skeptical about the investment given the recent publicity in Mexico regarding iron ore, we were very pleasantly surprised to subsequently find a situation almost completely opposite of what we expected. Not only are the Mil-ler and Tonogold teams extremely professional and experienced, our understanding of Mexican iron ore and our skepticism were completely unfounded. We found the state of Sonora to be an extremely friendly place for mining and the supporting infrastructure to be of great quality, which even producers and developers in Australia and America would envy. We are very excited to be part of Tonogold's future and believe they are well on their way to creating a considerable business with a combination of characteristics that are rare in iron ore; strong cash flow generation off of a very small capital expenditure base with the added benefit of very significant production growth potential."
After Jordan Moles visited the mine he joined the Tonogold Board of Directors. I would say that is an endorsement of the cartel non issue.
The Mazon Family are billionaires and are among the wealthiest in Mexico. They are involved in numerous business and investments in Sonora, Mexico. If the cartels were an issue, do you think Gustavo Mazon would have joined the Tonogold Board of Directors? Not likely. This is another endorsement of the cartel non issue.

The Cartels are not an issue according to all of these companies who are now doing booming business in Mexico.

The drug cartels are NOT an issue in Sonora Mexico according to Maverick one, his quote here:
“I'm aware of the security issues with the cartels... but I don't think this mining operation would have anything of interest to them. No ore is going North on the tracks to AZ and the States, it's being trucked 180 KM south to the Port Guaymus loaded on freighters and shipped to China. There is no conflict with or business with any cartels here.”

This issue has been brought up before by the same person. Here is a link to a post I did on 8/25/14 to address this issue:

The person bringing this issue up is only using it to spam the board with negative bashing. This has gotten personal for him and along with all of his other ranting, has nothing to do with the great fundamentals at Tonogold. The more bashing he does the more he loses his credibility.
