1967 Shelby GT500 FastbackLot 2512 features the first year of the big block Shelby Mustang, in 1967. It opened the path for Carroll Shelby to take the whole concept a big step further by offering a 428cid dual-quad big block.
Unique and rare Ford Mustangs customized by auto legend Carroll Shelby are just part of this month's Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The massive sale Jan. 10-28 will showcase the firm's record number of consigned vehicles, with more than 1,600 rides on the block, including the renowned Ron Pratte Collection and the Salon Collection.
"We're thrilled to kick off 2015 with the largest auction in the history of Barrett-Jackson," chairman and CEO Craig Jackson said in a statement. "Collectors and auto aficionados from around the world come to our Scottsdale auction to bid on some of the most coveted vehicles ever built. With a record number of cars set to cross the block, Scottsdale will be our most electrifying auction to date."
This will be the last chance to see the famed Ron Pratte Collection, including more than 140 vehicles and over 1,500 pieces of automotive memorabilia. His vehicles will sell on Tuesday, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Jan. 17. The final sale will feature his 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 "Super Snake" and the '54 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama Concept Car.
