I find the last part interesting. I wonder how much they charge how that works? What is in it for them doing this?

BTW .............
All this new technology as far as more computers for communicating with the driver be it for safety or simple android computers for traffic, restaurants, etc I can just imagine when this technology breaks down your choices be very limited who you can take it to for repair.

I believe the American consumer is getting suckered into so much technology placed in these new vehicles they will be forced to take them to the dealerships to be repaired at ridiculous prices.
Not all change is good change!

CES automotive highlights

Automakers have played a big role at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Here are some of the highlights from the show:
Ford CEO Mark Fields announced that an automaker will probably introduce a self-driving vehicle within five years, but it won't be his company. Ford will focus on less-expensive features that assist in driving before the company introduces an autonomous car, he said.
Hyundai introduced new technologies, including a wearable band linked to a head-up display. The band vibrates when the lane-departure system is activated and can notify 911 if it detects that a driver's heart rate changes rapidly.
Toyota announced that it would offer rival automakers 5,680 patents on technology for its hydrogen-fuel-cell vehicles. The move is expected to speed the development of the fuel option in vehicles.
