The book value of the patents is about $400 million, since almost 10% (of $4.3 billion) of all Nortel patents are now owned by Spherix.

given that rockstar sold their portfolio for 900 mil I would put a very rough guestimate value on SPEX patent portfolio at 80 million or so (between 2.50 and 3 a share)

This is in line with my prior estimate that SPEX should be valued just shy of $3

Given that the market has completely lost its appetite for NPEs due to a string of high profile defeats by other companies.. VHC, VRNG, DSS etc etc. its easy to see why SPEX is trading as low as it is currently.

I have faith that the patents are still worth something because they aren't primarily software related and so aren't heavily affected by the Alice decision but right now its all just a waiting game...

Rockstar sold their portfolio because they didn't have much luck. I'd be more than happy to see SPEX sell out their portfolio too.

I doubt we will see much price action in the next few months but I'll be more than happy if we do..

keep an eye out for wildcards.. all we need is a high profile win from another NPE and this stock could catch the rising tide of positive sentiment.
