TIA The Trading Activity Fee (TAF) is one of the member regulatory fees FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) assesses to recover the costs of supervising and regulating firms. This includes costs associated with performing examinations, financial monitoring, and FINRA’s policy, rulemaking, interpretive, and enforcement activities. The fee was implemented in 2002 and Scottrade has paid the fee on behalf of our clients since that time. Effective March 4, 2015, Scottrade will pass through this charge of $0.000119 per share for each sale of a Covered Equity Security, with a maximum charge of $5.95 per trade of 50,000 shares or more. A charge of $0.002 per contract will be issued for each sale of a Covered Option Contract.
