That wasn't the topic of my question but here's a response to your points as I see them:

2: yes

3: wrong, by definition an inventor does not assign a patent to themselves. It is their patent and depending upon various arrangements and understandings it may be assigned to a company or to others. In some cases it must be assigned but that is dependent upon where one resides and contractual obligations.

4: against the law? Only under specific circumstances. In my opinion you believe it is always illegal. I suggest you pursue that in a court and see how your opinion is valued.
