I suggest you read the EULA (End User Licence Agreements) from both Samsung and Apple. These firms are the global industry and market leaders for smartphones and tablets (50% plus market share), and are the leaders in enterprise, education, healthcare and government.

Per the EULA's from both firms, you cannot:

* run their software on other vendor hardware (i.e. cannot run iOS on a V3 appliance or on top of a Windows Server based GW system)
* make more than one copy of the software, and only then for backup purposes
* modify the Software or any portion thereof or create derivative works based upon any Software or any portion thereof
* use the Software or any portion thereof to perform services for third parties (i.e. cannot offer cloud hosting services either private, public or hybrid, on or off premises)
* lend, lease or resell it
* make the Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time. (see the Glassware architecture diagram)

This also applies to the SDKs (Software Development Kits) from both firms. This means third party developer solutions using the SDK's are restricted to running their apps on the respective Apple or Samsung hardware.

And note, contrary to what many believe, when you "buy" software, you don't own but have a limited right to use the software per the terms of the EULA. "The Software is licensed, not sold".

Hope this helps.
