This morning I listened on the TV to a few of the family members of one of the Police Officers who got shot in NYC. They spoke of him being a born again Christian and how he would offer forgiveness to the shooter, making a long story short, this caused me to do some self-examination and I realized I am short in this area, often I am OT man when it comes to these acts. Also, every early morning I spend time in the Scriptures and talking with God.....this morning I flat did not care about reading and decided to put off until later today, however, when I made my way to my coffee pot for whatever reason I got my Bible, coffee and sat at the table...before starting I ask God to help me out this morning because I really did not want to read from my Bible this morning. I read Luke chapter 15, not once but twice and all the footnotes which are in my study Bible-----Parable of the Lost Sheep---Parable of the Lost Coin---Parable of the Lost Son---all relating to God's forgiveness of the LOST....
Major point here: When you feel like drawing away from God, for whatever reason and there are many which each of us have---take a moment, a deep breath and do that which you do not want to do, but "1st" just take a second and ask God to help you out and grant you a gift with a touch of wisdom from His word.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit is an awesome experience.
God Bless & share a smile, a pleasant greeting, share Christ & be respectful of those outside of our faith----keep in mind that the only Bible others may ever see or read is you
