I've commented on this before,
maybe on the PETZ & STOCKZ bd., not sure. BNB's hav-a-heart trap works like a charm, relatively cheap too, 15 bucks I believe. They are suckers for any kind of bait: stale bread, peanuts even birdseed, whatever is handy. I end up with the occasional bird which doesn't seem to stress them out much as I let them go quick.
There is a friend since childhood who has owed me a considerable amount of money for years that I lent him to get him out of a bind.
I got the grateful "I'll pay you back man as soon as I can man blah blah blah" I've never pressed him for it and he has apparently wiped it from his 'to do list'.
He lives on a nice piece of property in a semi rural area that I can stop in front of. lean out and open the cage door without ever getting out of the car. I take all of them out there as, well, I want them to find each other and continue in the family 'way'.
It's an easy, quiltless solution for me. Hope this helps.
