It's not even tech, really, to create the app. All the tech's built into the set already.
Expect more "themed" content channels, like Toon Goggles (for kids). The Paramount channel would already have a ready trove of super-high-quality content, you could have somebody dedicated to older movies (the Turner Classic Movies channel?), foreign language content, sports content, the lot.
Part of the FCC rules changes and changes in the business mean that networks themselves have very little control, and content providers have much more direct control.
That means networks like Netflix and Amazon have less leverage to press Paramount or any other studio for content deals, because the studio can cut out the middleman entirely.
And NTEK has even less leverage than that. They don't have an existing customer base like Netflix and Amazon.
