Sorry the pits don't work that way! You can read all of that stuff and put it out but that is not what happens in the real world. I could buy 100,000 of a stock for a client and would not care where the shares came from as long as my order was executed. Then the MM would not give a rat's ass because if he was short in the 15 day reporting period he would report it as short and no one would care less. Now if it was a OTC BB stock no one cared if they could ever come up with the shares because the SEC and FINRA had NO reporting system and the MM's did not have to report it! That is where the term 'naked short selling' came from years ago! I know! I was there! Shall we talk about the rebate program Brokers had with MM's if they routed their trades through that specific MM? I know, I did it!
