You are right, it isn't. When NITE moves his 100 ask up, because he gets hit, then you will see 100, at a higher price, often immediately followed by a higher quantitiy, like 1.546. It would be too much of a coincidence to have a retail buyer step in at that exact time and at that price. Who would want to sell 1.546 shares anyway? Many of these offers come from our NITE seller as well.
