Hi Toofuzzy
Aim has me buy on the way down and sell on the way up. It works good enough."
It can produce a higher result without changing or touching one thing about aim's original design. Simply delay your buys.
Look at jaiml's charts of SSO. What really stands out in the result box is that the BTB made 39 transition to 17 for the delayed buys.
So, you are buying as the stock is falling, I am buying as the stock is rising aim -wise.
Aim is just a machine. You are adding money to the aim machine as the stock is falling. I am adding money when the stock rises.
My action affects no operational part of the aim machine. We are in effect using the machine in the same manner with a different result.
Result. SSO. BTB.CAGR 10.46 vs. Delayed 14.46 Delayed.
Why anyone would insist or advise on using the inferior stock falling side to participate when demonstrated that the stock rising side is superior, to me, is puzzling.
