And very surprising and unexpected: There was also an excess of serious infections in the niacin group.

So lessee....it may cause an aneurysm, diabetes, or serious infection...and it does nothing to reduce CV risk....and it's still on sale?!?! Seriously, if data like this was around prior to approval, the drug maker wouldn't have even submitted an NDA! How can the FDA NOT recall niacin?!?
