Source: PR Newswire (US)
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCQB: CCGI) ("CarCharging" or the "Company"), the largest owner, operator, or provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, announced today that it has executed an agreement with the City of Thousand Oaks ("City"), California for the ownership and operation of Blink EV charging stations. The City of Thousand Oaks is a premiere community recognized for being one of the most desirable places in California to live, work, and raise a family. Located in Ventura County between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks is nestled against the Santa Monica Mountains with over 15,000 acres of publicly owned space within the City's boundaries.

"This is another step that strengthens our market position within California," said Michael D. Farkas, CarCharging's Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "By extending our operations through the southern part of the state, we can improve our service and reach hundreds of additional customers turning to electric vehicles for everyday use. We look forward to expanding our network of EV chargers in and around Thousand Oaks going forward."

In addition to the current Blink Level 2 EV chargers and Blink DC Fast charger, CarCharging will replace nine existing Clipper Creek Level 2 chargers with Blink charging stations. The location of these chargers includes the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Hillcrest Center, Janss Road Park & Ride, Thousand Oaks Transportation Center, and the Thousand Oaks Municipal Service Center.

Blink Level 2 chargers are able to rapidly recharge electric cars, and accept payment with the Blink InCard or major credit card via the Blink mobile application, Blink Network website, or Blink customer support center. Blink's InCard provides drivers with discounted charging fees for charging stations on the Blink Network, the software that operates, monitors, and tracks the Blink stations and all of its charging data. Drivers can easily request Blink's InCard at www.BlinkNetwork.com and can pinpoint EV charging station locations using the map on the website, as well as the Blink and CarCharging mobile applications.

Charging fees for Blink members and Blink guests apply at these stations.
