Swing trading stocks is far more lucrative then daytrading them. Using long term weekly/monthly charts is the way to go for STOCK trading. Options are an entirely different beast because of the theta decay factor. Daytrading weekly expiring options is probably the best and safest strategy. You can very easily swing trade Deep in the money long term dated options however; and not get whipsawed out of a position, where as if you played a weekly expiring option, that whipsaw would shake you out of your position immediately. Buying (calls or puts) weekly expiring options is probably the hardest type of trading there is out there. Selling (shorting) the weekly option is a lot less stressful in my opinion
