I can't find it (I saw it on the tv screen in the elevator at work) but I saw that all travel (not just airlines) is going to be up 4% from last year for the holidays and it's the highest it has been since tracking starting in 2001. But here is the same article (I think the one I saw in the elevator was from the Washington Post)

Holiday travel is expected to total 98.6 million, an increase of four percent from the 94.8 million who traveled last year.
Travel volume for the year-end holidays will reach the highest peak recorded by AAA (since 2001).
Air travel is forecast to grow one percent from 2013, with 5.7 million travelers taking to the skies.
