From the November 19 CEO letter to shareholders......

We also expanded our management team to include Mr. Jeff Liter as an outside Director. He is a highly-regarded business executive with considerable expertise in fund raising and M&A. Mr. Liter is now heading up efforts to gain additional capitalization and explore suitable merger candidates to grow revenues rapidly while synergistically expanding our growth potential.

Jeff Liter joins West Monroe Partners’ Mergers & Acquisitions Team

Date: October 28, 2014
Location: Minneapolis

Senior transaction leader brings more than 32 years of experience; track record for guiding numerous transactions totaling more than $3 billion.

West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that Jeff Liter has joined the firm as a senior principal in its Mergers & Acquisitions practice, based in Minneapolis. He has more than 32 years of experience in operations, integration and restructuring, strategy, and profit and loss management.

Liter has personally guided transactions ranging from $4 million to $2.6 billion in size, as well as integration and restructuring efforts that have produced multiple millions of dollars in savings. His transaction and integration experience spans the life sciences, telecommunications, and other industries, as well as global business interests in Europe, China, and other areas of the world. He also has extensive experience in strategic planning and bringing new products to market. He becomes part a West Monroe team that has helped deliver more than 600 transactions and 75 carve-outs for 140 strategic and financial buyers with a combined value of greater than $120 billion.

“Jeff Liter has an exemplary track record for leading mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to successful completion,” said Tom Ewers, West Monroe Partners’ Minneapolis office leader. “His leadership and strong experience in key industries, particularly life sciences, offer an outstanding fit with our clients’ strategies and a valuable complement both for our Minneapolis team and our M&A team across the continent.”

Liter joins West Monroe Partners from Progenitor Cell Therapy, a $20 million adult stem cell contract manufacturer for which he was chief operating officer. He completed a turnaround that brought this company to its first year of profitability, revamped the organization’s quality management system, and expanded gross margin by 300 basis points.

Previously, he was a managing director with On Point Consulting, a Minneapolis-based firm specializing in merger integration and helping clients in various industries achieve deal synergies and other transaction goals. West Monroe Partners acquired On Point Consulting in October 2013.

“Transactions continue to be a key strategy for growth and advantage in today’s marketplace, but delivering the value expected requires navigating complex operations and issues—all the way through the process,” said Liter. “West Monroe Partners has distinguished itself as a firm that is able to support organizations from deal evaluation and integration strategy to execution and beyond. I am eager to lend my skills and experience in this capacity.”

Liter also served as director of corporate development, strategy, and licensing for Beckman Coulter’s diagnostics division His roles included managing key alliances, out licensing, and creating new go-to-market approaches. Earlier in his career, Liter served in various management and director roles with ADC Telecommunications, primarily in corporate development and sales. He led ADC’s corporate M&A team by delivering collaborative strategy development at the business unit level and providing transactional leadership support. During his tenure with ADC, he completed more than a dozen transactions totaling over $3.5 billion.

Liter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota.
