Awalu, I have to agree with your post. Thoughtful and respectful debate is healthy for all, whatever your position may be, and it should be encouraged. Such debate is compromised when the positions do not appear sufficiently grounded, or coherent.
The case of Ms. Cator's holdings is an example. She holds, if my calculator is working right, approximately $600,000 worth of Ariad stock. To the best of my knowledge, there is not a reliable ratio of an insider executive's salary/equity holding that is predictive of a company's future; and, thus, speculation about the importance (one way or the other) of this ratio for one "insider" does appear to be non sequitur. At best.
An alternative, albeit cynical, interpretation of such line of argument would be that its intent is to distract from more substantial facts, and steer the dialogue in a different direction. In short, merely launching this "thought bomb" attracts multiple responses/posts, and thus appropriates "air time" which would otherwise be spent debating issues of legitimate financial, technical or medical interest related to Ariad and its products.
