But the patent was filed July 20, 2011.

Patent

The Executive committee for the study: William B White, MD, Farmington, CT (chair); Linda Giudice, MD, PhD, San Francisco, CA; Deborah Grady, MD, San Francisco, CA, Michael Snabes, MD, PhD, Lincolnshire, IL (ex officio)

The BLISS study has an executive committee that has the overall responsibility for oversight of study conduct, modifications or revisions to the study protocol, and oversight of public presentations or publications of the study findings

Unfortunately they spent at least 3 months reviewing the data and stopped short of completion. The merger then surfaced. No publication or public presentation was was ever made supporting the claims of patent as method to reduce CV risk. No doubt Dr. White and Dr Snabes have had to keep this under their hats, until it works itself out.

William B White,MD is the former president of the American Society of Hypertension and a Professor at UConn Health Centre and Chief of the Calhoun Cardiology Center,Hypertension and Clinical Pharmacology Division is well published and has written 3 text books.

In his job as chair of the committee he is certainly aware of the benefits as outlined in the claims made in the patent application. It must be hard for him to go to hypertension conferences and wait until the day he is actually permitted to present the ground breaking findings.
