That's what happens when there are no real retail bids and someone does a sell at market rather than a limit. Then they find a sucker willing to buy and make a big gain. Doesn't sound like much but do that enough times and it pays huge.

That is how front loaded pump and dumps work. Suck up cheap shares over a period of time and pop it.
