Former mob hitman James Files has confessed, once again, to the JFK assassination and claims he was the man on the grassy knoll on November 22, 1963, in Dallas.

Newsmax TV aired a provocative special entitled I Killed JFK in which Files, now incarcerated at Danville Correctional Center in Danville, Illinois, says that he worked under mobster Charles “Chuckie” Nicoletti, who was an underling to mob boss Sam Giancana.

“Giancana and other mobsters had been angered by the president’s brother, Robert, who as U.S. attorney general was targeting organized crime in a major prosecution effort,” Newsmax reports.

Lee Harvey Oswald “never fired a shot,” according to Files, though he does admit that someone had shot President Kennedy prior to him squeezing off the fatal round that struck Kennedy in the temple and blew his head backward.

According to Files, it was Nicoletti who was supposed to be in the book depository and not Oswald.

“I have tried to verify Files’ story. A lot of that story I have been able to verify,” including that a shot was fired from the grassy knoll “exactly where Files said he was standing,” said former FBI agent Zack Shelton, one of two retired agents that believes the story.

So what is the James Files version of events?

Files states that shortly before the JFK assassination he “went back to the plaza, got my briefcase out with the gun in it. I went into the railroad yard, put it away where nobody could see it.”

When Kennedy’s motorcade entered Dealey Plaza and made a left turn, the President’s car cruised past a street sign in front of Files.

“That’s when I started focusing through the scope. As far as I can see at this point the President has not been hit in the head. I’ve seen the body lurch. I know he’s been hit. How serious I don’t know… But my last instructions were, ‘We’re going for head shots. If you have to take a shot take it, but don’t fire unless you really have to.’ I was aiming at his right eye. When I pulled the trigger it was almost like looking from six feet away through the scope. As I squeezed his head moved forward. I missed and got it right along the temple, right behind the eye. I squeezed off my round. I hit him and blew his head backward. I fired one shot and one shot only. I never saw Mr. Nicoletti shoot Kennedy but I know he was the man in the building who was supposed to be doing the shooting. As I was leaving Dealey Plaza nobody tried to stop me. There were two police officers within 20, 25 feet of me. I didn’t run. I just carried a natural gait and proceeded to exit, just like a businessman walking away from lunch.”

Now whether you believe James Files’ story depends largely on whether you trust Newsmax as a news source, and many people don’t believe a word of it.

Edward Bell’s takedown of Files’ story (linked above) leaves a lot of room for skepticism, and it also shows the I Killed JFK blockbuster Newsmax promised isn’t quite as groundbreaking as they would have you to believe.

After all, Files has been claiming to be the killer for years now and there have been plenty of issues with his story, as you’ll see in the report posted by Bell.

Meanwhile, check out this video uploaded in 2010 and skip to the 1:09 mark to hear Files’ first recorded confession.

James Files reportedly did not receive any form of payout for his cooperation with the latest documentary. You can catch it again all weekend long on Newsmax TV.
