Hope that the project is going well for you, It was 2009 when most of the wind companies like First Wind started to explore solar energy as the price of solar cells plummeted.. At that time, First Wind were involved in many wind projects. Today, First Wind is the largest solar developer in New England. In another example of changes in priorities , First Wind a few years ago proposed a wind project in Brimfield , MA. Later, the company withdrew the project. Then a short time later proposed a solar project in the same town and now has it online. I know of several wind and solar companies that no longer are involved in the wind power business. Building a wind power project is generally not a project that a wind company would give to a general contractor unless there is specific qualifications unlike a solar project. The mechanical and structural issues are specialized. I am not sure MMMW wanted to hear you putting up the MAT without their help. The MAT is a great idea and resolved a lot of issues with past verticals axis turbines. Solar is a better opportunity for MMMW while the MAT needed more refinement of its details before it could be installed by a general contractor with a set of instructions.

I can see that it would be easy to put up a Bergey or Southwest Windpower since thousands of them are already totally refined to have general contractors installed them. I do not think that there are any small wind companies anymore in New England ( maybe a few left) as ten years ago there were about a dozen small wind companies locally.
