Really? Shares in American Airlines were worth around 20 cents when they filed bankruptcy, they emerged, and those same shares are worth over $40, today. Many companies suffer setbacks, restructure or refinance and come back strong as viable players with rich rewards for the shareholders willing to take a risk of a turnaround. Who is to say that Newlead's very evident problems are unsolvable?
Newlead is not responsible for the collapse of the economy and recession in Europe, and especially in Greece where their banking relationships reposed. They are responsible for failing to properly research a toxic financing deal with Ironridge, and maybe for signing a deal to export coal without adequately expressing the specific content of a required bank letter of credit, but I do not sense these are condemning, life-ending complaints that impugn the integrity of the company or its leadership.
