This information is so incorrect, its alarming.

In 2006, the long-term Saleen vehicle designer took a one year sabbatical from his day job to work with Steve on the original S5 proposal. 2006 would have been spent designing the new supercar. The VC firm canceled the supercar project once it began. So, Steve and the design spent the year working on The Saleen Store instead.

The lack of a Saleen S5 was under the direction and decisions making of the VC firm and their management at Saleen Inc.

Dealers were not upset with the 2006 Saleen line. For 2006 Saleen Mustang offered standard performance improvements for the S281 SC and introduced the Extreme model on the new S197 platform.

The n20 Focus fine happened well after the model went out of production. There was no national "recall" on the Saleen Focus. Saleen was fined on emissions, not safety. Saleen felt since the nitrous kits delivered with these vehicles were not active and the parts to make the nitrous active would have to be purchased through the parts catalog after vehicle delivery... there would be no reason to certify the engine... since it was a stock 2.3 (2004) and 2.0 (2005) engine. Government officials felt differently.
