This means he will get out of prison in the next few days. Once a case is vacated the state has X amount of days to releas the prisoner. If a case is vacated it means it is revoked, lifted, etc. this means that as of right now he is presumed innocent. They cannot hold an innocent person in prison, you are innocent until proven guilty. He will be released and may have to abide by some terms of conditions for release. These may be- not being able to leave the country, state, city, ankle bracelet, checking in with a PO, etc. whatever the state decides. More than likely very minimal conditions since it was only a DUI. He will be released and have these conditions until his new trial. At his new trial the "lower court" well either vacate and dismiss his whole case entirely or he will still be guilty of the DUI and they will count his +\- year and a half prison stint as time served and he will be free. More than likely The whole case will be dismissed due to the nature of this case.
