If an entity was interested in funding INDs which require a substantial investment (15 mil+), one way to mitigate risk or hedge would be to acquire a large stake in the parent company before funding a spinoff. Immediately they could reduce capital exposure while participating in both facets of potentially lucrative stem cell technology..
