Why did Dr. Mullan leave Roskamp?
The explanation (TBD) for this is the only reason I am still long this stock.
I believe it is for one of 2 reasons:
1) He believes it could be a safer alternative to Nilvadipine (see Nilvadipine safety profile below from Roskamp site).
2) He believes it can be used in combination with Nilvadipine to boost positive effects on the 3 Alzheimer targets (amyloid protein, neuroinflammation, tau protein).
I believe Anatabine has already shown positive effects on all 3 Alzheimer targets. This still needs to be proven with human trials just like with Nilvadipine.
Are there any serious side-effects of Nilvadipine?
Nilvadipine has been used for the treatment of high blood pressure for over 10 years and has a very good safety profile.
The main side effect, which is of concern to us in this trial, is that it may lower subjects’ blood pressure, and we have established a protocol to monitor for this closely. Nilvadipine can also cause headache, flushing, palpitations and
swelling of the legs infrequently.
