Lurker05, ISRG's single port system is not another robot. It is an attachment to the their new Xi machine. As an option, many hospital systems are eager to acquire single port technology based on the influence of their constituent surgeons. Based on conjecture which was acquired through ISRG reps and by speaking with other surgeons and hospital administrators, it seems that the ISRG single port option for the Xi machine will probably have a base cost that is below the suspected price point for the SPORT system. Nothing, will ISRG give away for free. Case in point, about 2 years ago, our ISRG rep entered the OR sporting a leather messenger bag branded with ISGR logos. I asked him, "where is my bag?" His response was, "for $75 I can get you a bag, that is what I paid for it." Therefore, if they are not in the business to give away free bags why would they include free options in the sale of the new Xi unit?
