Most legal owners are better citizens than the general public and they generally have a more responsible relationship with guns. Guns are generally not a problem by those who carry. Being a legal gun owner, especially one who carries are not the type who usually get arrested.
However, if rapist knew they might get shot because more woman carried than not, there would not rape as much. Most rapist are not brave people, they are usually chickenshit bullies, not real men at all.
In general when speaking about criminals of today's world, most are punks that back down quickly when they confronted by strong willed people; in fact most of the punks of today's world avoid strong people as much as they can, they prey on the weak, the shy, the introverted.
