Jefferson's Distillery Partnership is a GAMECHANGER.

NOTE: Soldier has asked me to repost my post from 10/23/14 on Jefferson's Partnership with the Kentucky Artisan Distillery.

Guys, the Big News on Jefferson's Bourbon's Partnership with KAD is the Earth Shattering moment we have all been waiting for. This is the Crossing of the Whiskey Rubicon for Jefferson's.

While it is a Partnership with a Distillery, not an acquisition of one (YET), it s a HUGE step in the right direction for ensuring the brand's Future. It shows once again that Trey Zoeller and Castle Brands have a Solid Plan for the Sustainable Growth of Jefferson's Bourbon into a "Globally recognizable Brand" (in Trey Zoeller's words). While the INITIAL order from the Kentucky Artisan Distillery is for only a small portion of the total of Jefferson's inventory, one cannot but feel sure like there will be MORE AND BIGGER orders in the near future and an increase in KAD 's output for Jefferson's.

Why is Jefferson's association with a distillery so important?

1. It is a way to ensure more CONTROL over the Future Supply of the product.
2. It Gives Jefferson's a solid Base and a PRESENCE on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Whiskey Tourism is big and will only get bigger. It is a way to market the brand to all the visiting bourbon aficionados and potential corporate buyer.
3. It gives Jefferson's more CREDIBILITY as a brand.
4. It increases the COST EFFECTIVENESS of the production process.

This development shows once again how smart and business savvy Trey Zoeller is. He understands that control over supply of product is the single most important element for the sustainable growth of the brand. He also knows that building a distillery from scratch is rather expensive. So he figured out a way to get the backing of a distillery in a cost effective way that will support the future aspirations of the brand. Trey went to a small struggling distillery and MADE this Partnership happen! This relationship will benefit Jefferson's and KAD in a big way.

It's that simple!

(Funman, we finally GOT the distillery I have been ranting on about, so I am a very Happy Investor! I am excited! My confidence in Trey Zoeller has been confirmed and has increased even more. We knew Jefferson's had the right marketing strategy for Market Penetration, we just weren't sure about its Ability to Sustain the Growth. Well, now we KNOW we are in the right hands!)

Funman, to answer your question about the Chill Filtration quote in the article,
("KAD will do the chill filtration for all Jefferson’s products though."), you can find out about the process in the below link, although it is pretty much what the name says (filtering of impurities in the alcohol): http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chill_filtering

You can also take a look at the KAD facility from the inside in this VIDEO showing the bottling process of a brand of rum made at the distillery:

(Rum in Kentucky? Yeah, bad idea right? Not to worry, Trey Zoeller is in the house now! He'll guide KAD onto the right path, the Bourbon Path!)

Final thoughts.

This is only a speculation, but I can easily see in the near future more significant developments between Jefferson's and KAD. I can see at one point in the relationship Jefferson's acquiring a controlling interest in KAD (most likely for ROX stock and less cash). It is the only logical progression. (Now remember when it happens you heard it here first).

(Funman and the rest of you ROX regulars, Soldier, Okaly, etc, I tip my hat off to you daily for the good company and the constant source of valuable analysis and news about our investment. We should all tip our hats off to "Someconcerns" for Breaking yesterday's All Important and Monumental News about Jefferson's.)
