The California Coast Commission is as powerful and dangerous as the IRS. Thanks to a budget bill passed recently, the CCC now has the authority to ticket and levy fines on regulation violators.

Where it used to be they had to get a court order, now they can just serve you a fine, and if you don't pay, see what injunctions and liens can do to your property.

Just recently in Malibu, a guy helped refresh the red paint on the curb in front of his house, the CCC knocked on his door and gave him a fine for not using approved paint.
