Hi Fox. Don't get too excited on this one. Understand how it works there. Total Wines will carry anyone on a test with a slotting fee for a very small amount of shelf and it's on consignment with full recourse payable at the register only. It's survival of the fittest which I doubt Marani can survive. They have close to 700 vodka SKUs too so it's tough competition. Another thing to consider is they only cover 16 states and Marani only has one small portion of one state so the visibility is less than desirable considering the costs of slotting fees and expenses should it not sell through. Total doesn't are if it sells or not. They are not backing Marani in any way. They cover their cost with the slotting fee and if it sells, it sells. If it doesn't they pull it and return the unsold product pocketing the fee. Without advertising and marketing I think you'll soon find out that this is just an initial order with a whole lot of returns.
