I've been a diehard KC fan since pre-George Brett..I'm certainly pulling for a KC, and I'd be very happy with a win in five games ...but I'd certainly take seven if they come out on top.

In '85 the Royals won with the worst starting offensive short-stop in any World Series, Buddy Biancalana.

In '80, the Royals participated in (and lost) the highest rated (most watched) Word Series of all time....Royals vs Phillies. I think what says a lot about the decline of Baseball and the World Series as our 'national pastime'.

One of the worst days of my life was Game five of the 1976 Playoffs vs the New York Yankees, when Chris Chambliss hit his game ending ninth inning home run off KC's 'Farmboy' Mark Littel's first pitch. It was a night game....I lived in the NYC area...school the next morning was heartbreaking.
